We have another appointment with our agent this afternoon to respond to the seller's counter offer. We've been silent on their counter for about four days, as this was the advice given to us by our agent upon receiving their counter. We all felt that it was unreasonable given the circumstances of this particular lot.
They contacted our agent yesterday and verbally expressed their desire to find a place in the middle between our original offer and their counter which is doable, however, there are other stipulations in their counter that we aren't willing to agree to and we don't yet know whether or not they are willing to accept the original terms. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
In the meantime, I have a rough floor plan drawn up for the architect just in case, though there is still much to find out before we commit ourselves.
Though a large portion of illegal grading has been done on this lot in addition to having a sizable area that is designated as "open space" that cannot be built on, I managed to draw up a one story plan that will still give the office, kitchen, master and great room areas the best views in the space we have to work in. They still need to be drawn and approved by the engineer once feasibility has been determined, so even if they agree to our counter, we have a long way to go before we know anything for sure.
