Aftershocks

We celebrated another birthday today. Four thousand fifteen days old and still kickin'.

We've called her Boo since she was a baby.

During the first 120 days of her life she had a very difficult time going back to sleep after her 1:00 a.m feeding.

I was fairly wiped out by that hour so Dad would get up and rock her and tell her she was his little BooBoo. She's been stuck with the name ever since. If she gets married some day her husband will probably call her Boo, too, since twenty years from now we'll have forgotten her real name, poor kid.

A typical birthday celebration in our family consists of a trip to the birthday girl's favorite restaurant. The last time we ventured out for a bite to eat, someone in our family came home feeling rather bloated. That someone must have been feeling mildly full, which must have triggered flashbacks from the previous week's episode because she took one look across the parking lot and simply gasped.

"Oh my God, that car looks like the same color as throw-up. Why would anyone paint their car that color?"
