Never give Dad the opportunity to become idle for more than a few minutes. It's just too easy for him to find amusement at the expense of another's creativity.
Never assume that Dad will keep his musings to himself since his enthusiasm for divulging information peaks at the prospect of sharing important discoveries that have not yet come to one's attention. Besides that, it's an easy way for him to bond with his offspring.
Never be too hard on Dad for finding a little humor in the idiosyncrasies of this diverse world we live in. He could easily derive the same simple pleasures on the golf course or some fishing boat off the Pacific Coast where you most likely would not be invited. Instead, he brought you to the park and bought ice-cream cones that cost $21.50...and that was after a 15% discount.
And finally, never ever wear black and white stripes when Dad takes you to the animal sanctuary because he might "accidentally" forget to bring you home.
