One Little Kitten

lost her mitten somewhere between a car and a path; one purple mitten that is dropped and left behind. Forever.

A full afternoon of searching one week before Christmas finds one impatient mother striding from store to store to store in the hustle and bustle of a busy mall for replacements. Not a huge demand for mittens in southern California, even in winter. However, this child will not be consoled until she has new mittens, especially when a cold frosty morning bites her numbing fingers in 45 degree weather after sourly expressing a most adamant "No" to wearing anyone else's.

This same little kitten turns into a feisty tiger kitty and growls expectantly to ensure that her best romping buddy won't be deprived of such striped pleasures.

They are irresistibly cute!

Of course, the owner in the very last specialty clothing store we came upon informed me that if I needed outfits for these very special mittens, he knew of just the right ones.

I didn't have the heart to tell him I had their outfits already: sweatpants and tennis shoes.
